Terms & Conditions

The Terms and Conditions contained herein (“The Agreement”) shall be binding on each and every customer (seller) of Sheffield’s Diamonds. These Terms and Conditions are subject to change without notice.  Any such changes will be immediately posted on and apply as soon as they are posted.  Any changes in the terms will not apply to transactions that were put into motion prior to the effective date of such changes.

The payout value that we pay to each seller is based upon the weight, cut, clarity, and color of the item. All of these specifications are evaluated in accordance to GIA (Gemological Institute of America) standards, and are then compared to current wholesale (quarterly) market value-not based on original or current retail values. We may at our sole discretion, return your items for any reason.

How your diamonds are exchanged for cash

  1. Follow the instructions supplied in the kit for sending your diamonds to Sheffield’s Diamonds.
  2. When we receive your items, you will receive an email to the address provided.
  3. Your diamonds are unpacked, weighed, and tested. The unpacking, weighing, and testing are recorded on video and will be sent via email along with your offer.
  4. The payout value we offer is based on current (quarterly) market value. As soon as the value is determined you will receive an email.

If this offer is acceptable to you and you choose for us to send you a check, you do not need to do anything further. A check will be mailed to you within 24 hours. All checks are good for 180 days and must be cashed or deposited within that time. If your check is not cashed or deposited within the 180 days, a stop payment will be issued on that check and any items you have sent to us will be forfeited. If you are dissatisfied with our offer, your items will be returned to you at no charge.

Requirements for Participation

You must be 21 years of age in order to sell goods to Sheffield’s Diamonds. In addition, you must be the actual legal owner of any and all items sold or attempted to be sold to Sheffield’s Diamonds. You must also have the authority to sell that item and must be acting on your own behalf and not as an agent or representative of any other person or company unless legally authorized to do so. If so we reserve the right to obtain proof of such legal documents, such as but not limited to, state issued identification, power of attorney, etc. By shipping your items to Sheffield’s Diamonds you are stating that you are the legal owner, or have the legal authority to sell such item and that you accept all Terms and Conditions described here and on our website, which are subject to change without notice.

Guaranty against Loss

Sheffield’s Diamonds will guaranty against loss of the total contents and liability limitations set forth when properly shipped to Sheffield’s Diamonds, in accordance with the shipping instructions and procedures provided within the kit. We reserve the right to refuse delivery of any mail, envelope, or package which appears damaged, opened, and tampered-with, and any such mail, envelope or package will be returned by the postal service or courier service to the customer (seller). Sheffield’s Diamonds shall have no liability to any customers (sellers) for any such attempted delivery or returns of such items.

Limitation of Liability

This limitation of liability shall be binding on each and every customer (seller) and on any third party, including, but not limited to, the customer and the customer’s successors, assigns, insurance carriers and any other individual or entity asserting any right or claim relating to the customers transaction with Sheffield’s Diamonds.

Claims for any losses that occur during shipment, either to or from, are subject to the filing of an appropriate claim and the approval of such claim by the carrier and/or its insurance company.

By submitting your items to Sheffield’s Diamonds for evaluation, you hereby explicitly and expressly accept this limit of liability.

Return Insurance Liabilities

Any items sent back to you will be insured for the original insured value, if that value exceeds $25,000, as determined by Sheffield’s Diamonds, regardless of what the item was insured for when initially submitted by the customer to Sheffield’s Diamonds – unless Sheffield’s Diamonds is notified by e-mail or fax by the customer prior to Sheffield’s Diamonds’ shipment of the returned item, and you agree to pay for the cost of any extra insurance requested. Sheffield’s Diamonds shall, in its sole discretion, choose the return carrier, insurance amount and receipt-verification method for each transaction.

Acceptance of Transaction by Customer

When your payment is cashed or deposited in a bank or financial institution, this will constitute an acceptance by you of the terms offered by Sheffield’s Diamonds and your acceptance of the transaction, at such time this transaction will be final and your material will be processed.
